Mr. Ty Hayens

Director’s message

I am Ty Hayes, Director, Liberal Arts courses. I was born and spent my childhood in Kenya, so I consider East Africa my home. I received my B.A. in Humanities at Lubbock Christian University (Texas) and my M.A. in English from Baylor University (Texas). I specialized in British Literature and received a minor in History. I received my Teaching Certificate with a specialization in English Language Arts from the state of Texas and have taught at primary and secondary levels. I am very excited to be joining LIU’s faculty as the Director,  Liberal Arts program.

Liberal Arts courses matter because they are focused on developing the entirety of one’s heart and intellect, not just one’s specialized skill set. Focusing hence on the holistic approach of any true education endeavor. Whether it is Intro to BibleCommunication SkillsPsychology, or one of our other Liberal Arts courses, these classes are aimed at teaching you how to think, not just what you need to know to pass a test.

The Liberal Arts have always served as a crucial foundation to a student’s academic growth, launching you forward on your degree path, preparing you for a rich, creative, and meaningful career. This will be indispensable for one’s preparation to be a servant that will transform individuals and communities around the world.

Liberal Art Courses make one of the crucial curricula that LivingStone International University is using to shape the next generation of leaders that have to be ethical, highly empowered with cutting edge knowledge in various disciplines. This makes them become employable in all sectors of society.
